I do definitly have to admit the anime has its moments - like in dark era, dead apple and the guild arc. However i dont think the current style of animation properly potrays the theme and moods of most shows. from my pespective, bungo explores mental illness and the lines and burrness of morality. I really would like if the animation potrayed that in its style like Evangelion or lain, but instead its smooth and sharp, a stark differnce to how most of the characters view the world around them.

Idk if im the only one who thinks this, but the Bungo anime wouldve gone so much harder if it was animated in the 90s style of animation, specificly the evangelion style. Or even like the Dadaroma, NANA, or Paradise kiss style of animation. I have a lot of issues with the current anime, and most are animation related...

Ever since I finished Portal 2 for the first time. I've been wondering what an interaction between GLaDOS and Lain would be like. Also by Lain, I'm talking about Lain in the anime, not the game version, as I haven't played it yet.

Like low-key, their interaction would be pretty cool. They have a few similarities and they would talk about deep stuff.

Like picture this:

Lain was exploring the empty halls of Apertures offices. Mold and decay have crept in. Signs of animal life can be seen, plant life has also taken over. Yet she feels that someone or someone is watching them.

Lain hears a voice in the intercom. Robotic but feminine in tone.

"I see we have an intruder," GLaDOS said. "You are the first human to be-" GLaDOS didn't finisher her sentence.

Lain somehow has entered her chamber. She just appeared out of nowhere. It startled GLaDOS, "What. What are you?"

Lain stood there looking up at the giant robot. "I'm Lain."

Sorry, it sounded really corny. I'm writing off the top of my head. Probably edit after I post it.

But honestly, I just wanted to see other people's thoughts on this. I haven't seen it anywhere else on the internet so I was hopping people here would like to discuss it.

Just finished Serial Experiments Lain, and my ultimate takeaway from 5~ hours of binging that absolute artistic masterpiece (albeit an abstract as hell one) is that you shouldn't do Linux. Ever. It's not worth it.

My second takeaway is Lain is actually me. Next to Ryan Gosling.

Arisu: "That’s wrong. I don't really understand what you're saying, but I think you're wrong. Your body is cold, but you are alive, Lain. I am, too. See?"  

(Arisu lets Lain feel her hearbeat.)

Lain and Arisu together: "It's beating... beating... beating...!" 

(They both laugh.) 

Lain: "But why? Why is your heart racing like that?" 

Arisu: "Because I'm scared. It's pounding like that because I'm scared." 

Lain: "But you're smiling, Arisu." 

Arisu: "Yes I am, but I'm scared at the same time."
