Hi! I love your drawings. When/how did you start making art?

(Also I assume they’re your photos in your intro post and I need an eyeliner tutorial lol your makeup looks amazing)

Thank you so much! 🤍

So I've always made art since I was a kid. Back in the day I was considered one of the best artists in my class. I participated in art contests and festivals etc. But for majority of my teenage years. I barely would make anything. I just never had the time. I only took like two art classes in highschool. I was too focused on studies and more "practical" things to get good at.

Deep down I've always wanted to do something with this "talent" I always wanted to be an animator or a comic book artist. I used to suck a digital art. But I had bought a new idea for college so I was like, why not try to get good at it. And so here I am.

Also yes eyeliner can be tricky. Neither of my eyes are the same. Like one has more creases than the other so honestly it never looks even. Idk maybe it's an artsy thing as to the reason I'm good at it. A friend in junior high told me I'd be good at makeup cause I like to draw lol. I don't know it's just fun to me. I would say it's one of my hobbies but honestly idk if that's weird to say.

Send Me Asks With Ships-

I’m bored, so if anyone wants to send me some [NON-PROSHIP] ships for this, feel free. (I’ll obviously only respond to ones from fandoms/involving characters that I’m familiar with, lol. Though, I’m familiar with quite a few fandoms/franchises not talked about yet on this blog, so, I guess just send what you think I might know?)

Penny, how much do you know about your dad’s family? Does he talk about them often?

Hmm, dad's family? That's an interesting question. After all, I've never met them, so they're not really any relevance to me. They're strangers to me even if they are important to dad.

So, no, dad doesn't talk about them often, and I don't know much about them because I never really asked. I mean, I know he's got a twin brother and another brother. I'm pretty sure at least one of them has a name beginning with "S"... He's also got a mother and a father, which is apparently the standard for humans.

I know dad and pa talk about dad's family, but it's just never really been something I've cared too much about.

Also, dad looks kind of sad every time we see pa's side of the family, and they do something nice, so I don't think dad's family was very nice. That makes me want to know even less about them.

Although, looking back on it, dad used to look slightly jealous every time pa's sister came to visit. When pa and auntie were having fun and getting along, dad always got a weird look in his eyes. Now, he's just annoyed whenever she comes round but that's a long story...

So, in summary, no, to both of your questions but just because of my own disinterest.

Ignoring the fact that if dad wanted to tell me about them, he still would bring them up. The same way he does with science...

Sincerely,

Princess Penni Pines.

Penni, what's the most interesting thing you learned from Ford about humanity in terms of its history and society.

OOH, OOH, OOH! I love this question! It's so easy to answer too!

Obviously, my favourite thing, which I find the most interesting about humans, is food 2.0, aka, "drinking liquids".

Dad told me to stop calling it food 2.0 but I know I'm right on this one! For once, I'm right and my dad is wrong (just don't tell him or pa I said that). It has different flavours, it can have calories, and people have to consume it daily. Therefore, it's food 2.0.

There's so many different types that I would just love to try. Dad says his favourite is something called "coffee," which he has with lots of sugar.

However, what I find most intriguing is that there's adult only versions of this food 2.0. Imagine if food had adult only versions!? Not to mention that there's different types of this adult only version! So much variety. I'd get dizzy if I had to pick one of these things to consume.

I'm no scientist like my dad, but I'd love to do some sort of experiment with these adult only drinks. More of a social experiment, really... on myself. I'm just too curious!

Not to mention, then I could document it like how my dad does in his journal. I find his journal really cool, actually. (Definitely don't tell him I said that.)

Thanks for listening to my excited ramble about humans and their strange varieties of food 2.0,

Princess Penni Pines.

I've been inspired by @romanticizing-writing

(Hope you don't mind, by the way)

Wasn't the first time I've seen this sort of idea, but I definitely hadn't thought about doing it myself before this.

So, if you want, you can make asks directly to the ocs of my au, and I'll answer as them. That way I can flesh out Nimirylov and Penni a little bit more.

I feel kind of icky making another post about asks because it feels like I'm just begging for attention, which isn't how I want to come across. Therefore, I'm going to post this and not check tumblr again until tomorrow morning. Insecurity can't get to me if I ignore everything!

Oh my gods, amazing, I love it. I also did quite a lot of infodumping to a friend before posting to tumblr.

I love the idea of Ford having zero common sense though to the point that he brings a child through the multiverse with him. Willingly. It's in character though.

Also, the daughter being called Robin feels so ironic to me. Like, a half cat alien being named after a type of bird? Please tell me that irony was intentional.

I think it’s absolutely hilarious that we both managed to independently come up with the idea of “Ford needs an alien spouse and a half alien daughter”. Like get that monsterfucker an alien wife/husband and make sure he can be the girl dad we always knew he could be. Superb.

I just scrolled all the way back to 2018 on your account and I'm disappointed to realise this is not something you've posted. Presumably.

I do agree though that Ford gives off girl dad energy in an unexplainable way. He's so babygirl that he needs an actual baby girl.

He also deserves to just have an alien spouse. Reward the monsterfuckers for once, y'know?

I quickly went through all of your posts to get an idea of the AU and I have to say, I find it very interesting (/positive)! It's original and stands out from all of the other AU's. With that said, onto the questions! 🥳

1. How did you come up with the AU? (I enjoy hearing people's though processes, especially when the idea in particular is unique and unlike any I've heard before. I'm the kind of person who loves watching behind-the-scenes content for media.)

2. What specific species of fish are the fish aliens?

3. Sorta related to the previous question, but is Ford's husband that one siren he wrote about dating in one of the journals or no?

4. How did Ford meet the prince and how did they end up in a relationship?

Thank you so much! Hearing/reading (same difference) positive stuff like that affects me way more than I always remember it doing.

1. I can't remember when I came up with the au (because I always think putting things into a timeline makes it more understandable), but I do remember just thinking that Ford being focused on revenge against Bill for 30 years in the portal is just a little bit boring. I've said that before, but it genuinely was just that thought that spiralled out into me creating this au. I wanted to create something more interesting than revenge, and I wanted something with a lot of angst potential. The clear answer to that is love. I wanted to make an au where Ford had love in the portal, that was pretty much just how it started.

2. Hahaha, this is where I reveal that I've tricked everyone. I say fish aliens because that rolls of the tongue easier, and it sounds funny, in my opinion. However, design wise, they're more based on axolotls. Currently, the sole reason for that is just because axolotls are my second favourite animal, and I think they're cute. However, I will probably come up with some lore thing that relates to it better. As for how they act, I'm just making shit up as I go along. Just picture me waving my hands and going "ooh~ alien~" every time I make up more lore.

3. I am so glad you asked that question! Simple answer, no. Complicated answer, in a way. Basically; when coming up with Nimirylov, I thought, "Base this guy off Ford's canon "love interests"." So to me, that meant, take the good traits from Fiddleford, Bill and the Siren. I assumed that Gravity Falls meant sirens as in the pop culture version of them (evil mermaids) rather than actual Greek mythology (angry bird ladies) + I didn't want to make a bird. So, that's how I came up with Ford having a smart, charismatic, alien fish husband.

4. How Ford met Nimirylov is also something I need to figure out the exact details on. Either Ford accidentally stumbled upon him, and Nimirylov was determined to get a human boyfriend, or Nimirylov found and helped Ford when he first arrived in that specific dimension. I haven't quite decided yet. As for how they got together, I'm assuming you mean how the relationship started in the first place. That was 100% Nimirylov, he did all the romantic work. I'm also going to say that the way they stayed together was through a lot of work. Ford has tried to make a runner from him, and that dimension at least 4 times. Each time, Nimirylov had to calm and talk him down.

The first time he tried to run away was before they got together, when they had started becoming friends, though. The closeness scared Ford. The second time was after the one and only time Bill appeared in Ford's dreams in that dimension, which was probably a year or two into Ford and Nimirylov's relationship. The third time was right after Nimirylov proposed to Ford. He has some sort of fear of commitment, what can I tell you? The final time was after that scene I talked about in a previous post, where Penni draws the picture of Bill and calls him her imaginary friend. This was by far the worst time that Ford tried to run away because he tried to bring Penni with him.

I kind of went on an unrelated tangent at the end, but I do that. Honestly, though, I loved these questions because I got to talk about a lot of behind the scenes stuff that I'm really passionate about but probably wouldn't have talked about otherwise. So, thanks again.

How does Penni draw under water? Does she have underwater crayons? Does she eat such crayons?

also, will the Pines ever meet the Fish Family? Would they get along? I’m just imagining Stan making awkward small talk with his brother in law.

also also, will Ford ever escape the Shape of Water jokes?

1. Penni draws underwater because to the fish people species, water doesn’t really get in the way of anything. Water to them is what air is to us, or it's at least similar.

2. As I said above, yes, basically. Don't ask me how they're made. Probably something to do with coral.

3. She doesn't seem to me like the type of kid to eat strange things. She has, however, broken them up into tiny pieces. She likes to destroy things.

4. I think I put this in the comments on one of my previous posts but I can't remember which one. Basically, I can't imagine a way for the Pines to meet the Fish family. I've came up with a small idea of how to get Penni to meet them but I need to figure out the details on that one. (Spoiler alert: it involves a certain type of deal.)

5. If they did all meet though, I think they'd get along. Nimirylov is fluent in English and Penni knows some English because of Ford so communication isn't a big issue. I think the class difference would cause a small divide between them though.

Stan making awkward small talk with Nimirylov would definitely happen. Right before and/or after Stan tries to steal/scam something clearly valuable off of him. Ford wouldn't like them two interacting, though, because if they became friends, it would be a nightmare. Stan as a person + Nimirylov's charisma and natural skill with people?

6. Finally, no, Ford will never escape any jokes that could relate back to his husband, especially. His daughter is less joked about, but they'd still end up happening, too.

Thank you so much for these questions. For all the reasons I said in my post asking for questions and because it just makes my brain happy. I love rambling about Ford's alien fish family, and I love thinking more deeply into it with things I hadn't thought about before. I'm always thinking up more for this au, though.

Maybe I just posted the last one at a bad time or something, I don't know, but I genuinely have nothing to do for pretty much the whole next week.

So please, ask me any questions you have about the Washed Away au. Anything at all, and I will answer it to the best of my ability. I'm kind of frozen at the moment because I have so many ideas in my mind that I just don't know how or which ones to get out.

Genuinely, though, any questions will be seriously appreciated. I really struggle with getting my thoughts out into words effectively, so having direction really helps me. Then, in turn, I'm feeling better in general because my thoughts aren't constantly plagued by this au.

I asked my friend @uniquechaosdetective to give me some things to ramble about for my Washed Away au and I am thankful to say, she delivered!

I Asked My Friend @uniquechaosdetective To Give Me Some Things To Ramble About For My Washed Away Au

I'm noticing now that she hasn't fully listened to what I've said in the past, aka, she ignored what she didn't like. I'm onto you. Anyway, I'll take this one question at a time. Thank you.

Ford's child, Penni, is about 13. Probably 13 and a half, to be specific. I wanted her to be around the same age as the mystery twins but not the exact same age.

Ford gave birth. I've told you this already, and you looked at me with disgust! I've also made a post about it already here now, but I still thought I'd address it. Ford just looks like the type of man to accidentally get pregnant, and I won't budge on that opinion.

How it works is a more complicated question. I'm guessing it's basically just a c-section, but I did toy around a bit with the idea of Ford basically throwing up the child. Y'know, just got to add some more horror in there. Either way, Ford can't remember it!

They get along very well as a family. Ford's husband, Nimirylov, is very charismatic, as that comes with being a prince, and Penni is a mix of the two. I imagine that she's just as intelligent as Ford, if not more, but completely uninterested in science. She could stand there and rant about politics to either of her parents for hours, though.

Ford does not often talk about his family when he gets pulled back through the portal. After all, he sees himself as dead to them because he's been taken away from them rather than the other way around. He's mourning his family whilst also thinking of himself as dead at the same time even if he knows that he's alive.

He's very torn with Dipper and Mabel. Every interaction with them just reminds him of what he's lost with his own child, and it hurts him in the most enticing way. He doesn't want to replace his daughter, but at the same time, he's a #dad here, and these children are technically his family, too. Basically, he loves spending time with them, but it really hurts, and he feels guilty about it afterwards.

As I said, he doesn't talk about his family often, but when he does open up about them, he does it separately to each one. He tells Mabel everything about his husband and the stages of their relationship. So she reacts with excitement because "it's such a cute love story" or she'd say something similar. Alternatively, he'd make a small offhand mention about having a family that he'd love to return to but is unable to because of the dangers of the portal to Dipper when he shows him the rift. Finally, Stan is the only one that Ford tells about his child. That's what my entire last post was about, though, and this paragraph is getting long so I'm not saying anymore about Stan.

how does Stan feel, knowing he tore Ford away from a husband and child? How does Stan feel that his brother got MARRIED?

I'm still trying to figure out when and how Ford exactly tells Stan about everything, but I do know that Stan would feel immensely guilty about it. However, he's not outwardly going to show that. Instead, he'd deflect and say that there was no way he could've known that. Basically, he'd act very dismissive and deflective about it just to hide the guilt he would feel over it. Stan would also feel curious about the family that Ford had made for himself, as well as slightly sad that there was never a chance for him to meet them, but those feelings would be pushed even further down than the guilt.

The last thing Stan had ever expected was for Ford to get married, to anyone. Especially not when he was in the portal. He'd be very shocked over the marriage, but once again, Stan deflects. He'd make a ton of jokes over the fact that Ford was married to a fish alien. Trust that anytime fish is brought up in any capacity, Stan will be making a joke at Ford's expense.

Moral of the story, Stan can (and will) deflect any serious feelings that he has around Ford's alien fish family.

Hi again!

I have to say that I throughly enjoyed your take on Draco Malfoy and his family. There are things that I hadn’t thought of, and agreed. Others, not so much.

Firstly, if you want to publish your own version of the rewrite, go ahead! It’s a difficult task, for sure, but it can also be so much fun. Also, you said you weren’t sure of where to publish it, I recommend you do it on AO3 since it’s a platform made specifically for fan fiction and they don’t get any kind of profit so it protects you as a fanfiction writer and them. Hope this helps!

Now, on to your view on Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy.

For the longest time, I believed the same thing as you did. But it wasn’t until very recently that I changed my mind a bit. I think that Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy were the products of generational trauma—this is not to excuse their failings as parents and people, don’t misunderstand—, just like everyone else in the Sacred Twenty-Eight. They are people who grew up in an environment where they are forced to give up all control over their lives (they cannot even choose who they marry), they’re taught so many vile things throughout their childhoods—actually, they don’t even get to be kids. There’s just so many things wrong with these people.

But I do agree that Lucius might’ve been emotionally and mentally abusive, and it really would explain Draco’s desperate need to make him proud. However, I don’t think that means that Lucius didn’t love his son. I simply think that Lucius was stuck in a cycle he couldn’t or didn’t know how to break. This parenting style that Lucius uses is likely the same one his parents used when raising him, which would be the same his grandparents used on his parents and so on. It’s an endless loop of children learning that you have to hate a group of people for no reason and marry your cousin to keep the family line “pure” and gain as much power as possible because only then will you be deemed respectable. And Lucius clearly wants Draco to become respectable a young man in the wixen world, to have such an easy life such as his own.

Narcissa, on the other hand, I believe to be much more gentle and nurturing towards her son. She’s also stuck in a cycle, but she’s also seen firsthand what happens when you break it and what happens when you don’t. Narcissa had two sisters, Andromeda and Bellatrix. Andromeda disappointed her family to the point of being disowned—which, I should remind you, is the worst that could happen to you when you’re from a family like theirs—when she married a muggleborn and renounced her place as a Black. Now her family doesn’t acknowledge her existence unless it’s probably to discuss how much of a disappointment she is/was. Then you have Bellatrix, who followed the steps so many had carved before her, but it probably cost her her sanity with the way she behaves. But Bellatrix is the gem of the family, and she’s doing so well, she’s so respectable; she married a cousin who’s rich and very convenient and follows the Dark Lord and became a part of his inner circle. And this is without bringing her cousins, Sirius and Regulus, into this mess. Who would you follow?

As for whether Lucius and Narcissa married out of love or not: I think it started out as the typical arranged marriage, but they slowly fell in love as their relationship continued to grow. I like to think they’re the perfect example of a couple growing in love rather than falling. And I believe that this love and mutual respect that they share in this marriage would explain why Lucius listens to Narcissa and often does as she asks. You’re right about Narcissa using tradition to convince her husband to allow Draco to attend Hogwarts, but Durmstrang is also a very well-respected school of magic—especially amongst dark wixes like themselves. But Lucius knew that Narcissa wasn’t ready to have her only child live so far, and gave in.

With all of that said, I like to think that Draco knows what love should look like. He knows how to treat his lovers (regardless of gender), and he knows that communication, respect and love are the keys to a successful relationship. I would even dare to say that he was a romantic at heart, even if he didn’t show it. Draco might’ve been a bit soft, as he was a child growing and trying to make a name for himself while the world changed around him constantly. His views were sick and twisted due to the environment he grew up in, but this can all be changed over time.

Draco probably had a very complicated relationship with his parents, because they weren’t the best but I don’t think their mistakes were from lack of love—more from lack of acceptance. Draco is allowed to be angry and distant, he’s allowed to leave his parents to rot in Azkaban for all the hardships he’d had to endure because of them. But as someone who grew up in a toxic environment, it’s difficult to keep that mindset when you know the love was there and that your parents were working with what they knew and thought to be right, even if their views were misguided.

Also, I’d never thought of Draco being into goth until you brought it up and honestly, I’m really digging it. So thank you for that!

Finally, I have a love-hate relationship with Drarry mostly because I love my personal headcanons on Hinny and Drastoria. Not to mention that a part of me prefers Albus and Scorpius to be together rather than Draco and Harry.

Anyways! Thank you! 💞

Hi, what are your thougths about Draco Malfoy? I really like your rewrite, but I always feel like Draco could be like, the catarsis of a familiar chain. The one who survived his family toxicity and became a better person. I'm just saying he had potential.

Hey Anon! I apologize for taking a bit to respond, I haven’t been on Tumblr very much. But this is an excellent question, so thank you for the opportunity to discuss it!

Draco Malfoy is a complex character. He comes from a rich family that are proud members of the Sacred Twenty-Eight, who followed the Dark Lord until they couldn’t anymore. From afar, many would think that they’re the perfect example of evil people. However, as we look closer, all we see is fear.

We see Lucius trying to protect his son whenever Voldemort put him on the spot. We see Narcissa going behind the Lord’s back to protect her child. We see Draco being forced to do a lot of things out of fear and out of wanting to keep his family safe.

I believe that Draco really was as obnoxious as we meet him as in the first book/film. But, like all children, he grew up. As the war intensified, his actions became less about getting a reaction out of Hari and more about keeping himself and those around him alive—which is something that Hari fails to see at first.

I like the idea of Draco getting a redemption arc, but I don’t think it would be easy for him. I mean, sometimes I imagine him attempting to disappear into the muggle world for a few years where he learns a lot more about the world and himself. Who knows what he might have done during that time? Worked at a bakery shop? Maybe.

In my visions, though, Draco always comes back to the wixen world and becomes a Healer. He apologizes for his wrongdoings and is actively looking to make things better.

Do Hari and Draco become friends or more? I’m not sure yet, but it certainly doesn’t happen until a couple of years after the war’s over.

On a somewhat different note, this is one of the things I love about the rewrite. I get to explore so many different family dynamics and how the kids respond to it. Some people change for the better, others for the worst, and others don’t change at all. It’s interesting to see how I slowly watch them unfold and bloom.
