Grief

Grief never really dies, but it does hide.

No longer will it make itself known, beating in time with your heart during every waking moment and clinging to the wispy ends of your dreams. No, no - grief grows smart. It learns to hide in the gaps between breaths, learns to whisper in your ear as the wind blows. It does not linger long, just enough to make you stop and think.

For the unlucky, it may grab ahold of this moment of weakness and pull you under when you least expect it. For others, though, it fades once again, and you continue forth with only faint memories surfacing in the recesses of your mind.

The scars that grief leaves in your mind run deeper than any physical wound ever could. It tries to convince you that you, too, are lost.

Sometimes, you are.

Sometimes, years may pass without any more than a soft sigh or a flash of light to remind you. You may think it gone, that you have recovered. Healed.

An absence of grief is not healing; it is denial. Healing is letting go of the grief, letting it flow past you in your tumbling river of thoughts without fighting it. The sadness may not fade, but it doesn't have to. You learn to live with it.

But there are times when grief festers and grows. It takes over every thought, every breath, every second of your life. It pulls you under, drowns you in fear and pain. You cannot resurface alone, and without someone to pull you up or a rock to grab ahold of, you may be lost forever. It has happened before, and will surely happen again.

Grief is not always the end, but it can be. It never leaves, waiting for a moment of vulnerability to drag you down again. But the persistent can climb their way back to shore - and are the ones to answer the cries of those who couldn't.

One of the cool things about learning about disabilities is that I'm finding words I didn't have to describe things I didn't know were abnormal.

One of the worst things about learning about disabilities is that I am constantly going "oh! I could use that, lol, that would help me a lot! ... I'm stealing from real disabled people(by imagining using a mobility aid) and also why is everything designed to be so hard for people who need canes???"

Here With More Vitellaria And Burn Art! Saw That People Really Enjoyed Them In My Last Post Which Really

Here with more Vitellaria and burn art! Saw that people really enjoyed them in my last post which really motivated me to draw them both once again!!!

As I said in my last post, Vitellaria is an outcasted RainWing, though I never really got into why she was outcasted in the first place. It really started when she began to consume more meat than fruit within the RainWing kingdom. She’d hunt smaller prey like monkeys and sloths, which irked the RainWings, as these creatures were often seen as pets. She was pretty apathetic towards the RainWing norms and completely refused to try to fit in, which led to her exile.

Vitellaria never truly thought her exile was just, and this anger simmered within her and manifested as hatred for her own tribe. She would always try to prove herself as more than just a lazy RainWing, especially when she moved to the Kingdom of Sand during her exile. During her stay in the desert, she’d sell small taxidermies of rare animals that she had brought back from the rainforest and would actually make quite a name for herself within the Scorpion Den. This is where Burn would take note of her skills and ask her to work on a few ‘special’ pieces.

Despite her popularity as a foreign merchant, Vitellaria faced lots of discrimination due to all the hate directed towards RainWings at the time. Despite this, Vitellaria never took it personally, as she refused to even see herself as a RainWing, but she didn’t quite like how it impacted her sales during the early days of her career as a seller. At first, she’d try to change her scales to match that of a SandWing, though that didn’t change much and simply put off buyers, as she looked almost uncanny, like another dragon wearing the skin of a SandWing. She’d soon simply settle on her natural color palette and create a name for herself despite this setback.

Vitellaria was actually recommended to Burn as a taxidermist. Burn wasn’t told that she was a RainWing and simply assumed Vitellaria was another SandWing merchant. Though when they finally met in person to discuss the commission, Burn was not too keen on having a RainWing take on the job. However, Burn acknowledged Vitellaria’s talent and soon found that she was the only one who would be able to stomach the thought of taxidermying another dragon and bring her Weirdling Tower to life.

was thinking if edgeworth was a vampire gumshoe would definitely gift him twilight and edgeworth would absolutely despise it and go on a rant about the media misrepresenting vampires and gumshoe would initially be upset that he didnt like his gift but he'd feel better knowing edgeworth is so passionate about the subject

Finally some good fucking romance representation

We have reached a point where the HEIGHT of romance is NO LONGER sacrificing yourself and your partner through unescessary pain and grief, hell and back. INSTEAD, it is the pain of Waking and caring for small children and getting them into SCHOOL clothes and COOKING breakfast as the sun shines over your sleepy eyes and your PARTNER waddling into the kitchen in your t-shirt and unwashed yesterday's boxers. THEY makes coffee and you serve them waffles AND toast. ROMANCE IS NOW MIDDLE AGED PEOPLE IN LOVE cuddling on a blanketed picnic bench in the backyard with too many sunflowers and too many bees but the NOISE HELPS YOUR PARTNER GO TO SLEEP AT NIGHT. SAY GOODBYE TO GRIEF AND SORROW SAY HELLO AND WELCOME QUIET WEDDINGS AND THERAPY AND CONTENTMENT. WE HAVE SUCCESSFULLY MANAGED TO ROMANTICIZE COMFORT AND REST. WE DID IT FOLKS.

Well hopefully this helps 🧡

Keep pushing through, you've got this!

y’all i’m really craving some fucking validation right now so have this snippet of an ineffable husbands fic i’ve been trying to write since last year:

The sound of Aziraphale’s stool scraping against the floor is minimal compared to the water still running in the sink, so when Aziraphale throws his arms around Crowley and embraces him from behind, Crowley jumps, startled.

“Angel?” he asks.

Aziraphale pushes his face against Crowley’s shoulder. He loves wrapping his arms around the demon and pulling him into him, feeling the solidness of Crowley’s body against his, the places where their respective sharp angles and soft curves lock into place like puzzle pieces. He just loves hugging Crowley, now that he can, and he gives himself a moment to simply hold him and breathe him in.

Crowley smells like the peonies in their garden. He smells like the chair in Aziraphale’s study. He smells like the first cup of coffee in the morning, like the butter scones they have for breakfast sometimes, like the couch in their living room, like their bedsheets.

He smells like home.

Everyone is pretty

pretty is a gender-neutral word. I feel like everyone is pretty in a way, some have pretty faces, have pretty hands, or have pretty personalities. There are many ways to be pretty and nobody is not pretty they always have something that is genuinely pleasing about them and I feel like that thought makes me pretty in a way.
