Remus lupin realising there were all these other werewolves out there who never got the same opportunity he did. That he was truly the exception and it was because Albus planned to use him from the very beginning. Remus recognising he was instilled with this sense of debt towards dumbledore, Remus becoming disillusioned with Dumbledore and started seeing him for what he really was. Looking at the man they'd all followed in blind faith and wondered where the hell it got them and questioning if he was even worth following. Remus taking the job in POA not only because he needs the money, but because he wants to keep a closer eye, knowing that harry was under Dumbledore's care. Because he knew firsthand that at the end of the day Dumbledore's protection wasn't worth that much.

RON WEASLEY GUYS

The best most canon divergent my brain has been but please guys hear me out i

Okay so we all know the things that Harry, Ron and Hermione had to do to get to the sorcerer’s stone in the first book. Devils Snare, the key, the riddle and Wizarding Chess. We know that the Chess set was the work of Professor Mcgonagall, and assuming the protections were meant to work that means that Mcgonagall would have to have been an incredible chess player. Not above average, like GrandMaster level player. Given this when Ron beats McGonagall she is taken aback. Only 3 other people have beaten her, Albus, Severus and Tom Riddle. She takes to playing chess with Ron in the nights following in the common room (Ron doesn’t sleep at all until Harry wakes up and is back in the dorm). She has not beaten him. At the end of year feast when Dumbledore awards him points for the “best chess game Hogwarts have ever seen” the Slytherins and Ravenclaws are utterly ill. Throughout the rest of his Hogwarts career Ron is challenged by more and more students to play chess, Theo Nott, loses to him and the Slytherin students begin to look at him differently. Half of the Ravenclaws in their year watch in awe as he swiftly beats Parma. It continues like this through his time at Hogwarts, he has never lost. The Slytherin students begin to see his cunning mins, right after he beats Pucey, who is infamous for thinking 20 steps ahead. When Ron beats Marietta Edgecombe the Ravenclaws begin to follow him, they watch nearly all of his matches and take notes, completely ignoring the 5 pave paper due tomorrow. After Ron has beaten all of the students Snape (who has been listening to the whispers in the Slytherin common room) challenges him. The whole school watches with bated breath. It is well known that Snape has only ever lost to two people: Dumbledore and Voldemort. McGonagall promises him 15 Knuts if he wins, she can’t contain the shame any longer.

The ensuing chess match takes place over the span of several days, Snape is frequently writing late notes for the students who wish to see it. Other teachers are arriving to their respective classes late. Every time the game is paused Dumbledore casts the anti-tampering ward. This continues for nearly a week, Ron wins. Snape has never respected a Gryffindor more in his life (he is doubly harsh on him in potions, you beat one of the best players in the nation and you mean to tell me your potion is still bubbling??[Ron knows that Snape is seeing him, he just smiles and tweets for a few minutes before a perfect potion is bottled{Snape keeps them in his personal store]}) Eventually Ron is set to play Dumbledore, he is utterly terrified. Soon enough the match is the talk of Wizards across the nation, the Weasley family are all overjoyed for him, win or lose. The game begins and reporters from the Daily Prophet are there, Ron almost cracks, almost In the end after a week and a half Dumbledore’s eyes twinkle, with renewed vigor as he forfeits. Word gets out to Voldemort- he immediately tries to recruit Ron as a Death Eater. Every time Ron rejects him Voldemort sends an increasingly expensive and rare gift. Eventually Ron says if Voldemort vows to not hurt Harry that he will play him in chess, just once. The winner decides their own boon. The world is watching with baited breath as the best chess player and one of the most calculating minds in a century take the stage. The game lasts fornearly 2 weeks, a peace settles over the UK that has not been since Voldemort rose in that grave. The two declare a tie. No body wins, but Voldemort does realize that the war has become far too brutish.

AU where Dumbledore is all like: I should have known Tom was evil. His mother date raped his father and that was how he was born. He doesn't understand love and never will.

NOPE! He's just an autistic child who grew up in an abusive environment during the Depression and World War II and developed an antisocial personality disorder as a result!

Dumbledore: You shouldn't steal. Stealing is bad.

Little Tom: But why?

Dumbledore: Stealing is wrong.

Little Tom, frustrated: But why???

Orion, trying to explain how a spell works: You just have to feel it.

Tom, deadpan: I beg your finest pardon?

Dumbledore: How well can you empathize, Tom?

Tom, who mentally cannot put himself "in other people's shoes": That's a made up word.

Dumbledore: Tom seems too good at masking his true nature around others. I am the only one who sees him for what he is.

Tom, almost vibrating with overstimulation: If someone gets into my personal space without permission again, I will stab them in the eye.

Voldemort: Step aside, silly girl.

Lily Potter: Please, not Harry!

Voldemort, who had a plan:...

Voldemort, internally: Crap. Now what am I supposed to do?

I'd like to see Severus speaking with Dumbledore, maybe arguing about the children or the war, or remembering Severus' old days at Hogwarts. Maybe talking about the times when Tom used to be a student.

I want Severus to look exhausted at Dumbledore and say:

"What pains me the most is that you genuinely seem to believe that you care."

And then just leave.

More feral Severus Snape?

Like, I already proposed a Severus that goes back in time and chooses to turn his back to the WW, but now I feel more like getting a Snape that takes a look around, realizes he's back, takes a deep breath, rolls up his sleves, cracks his neck and goes...

"Very well... Bring it on."

A bit like "Falling apart", but with a bit more crack, maybe?

He just doesn't give a fuck, he's got no more shits to give about what's going on. His goal is to have a quite, paceful and solitary life, but he concludes that, with the war going on, he won't get it.

So, he goes around with a single goal in mind. He does consider leaving Hogwarts altogether, but decides to stay just to freeload on the castle while he applies to take his OWL's and NEWT's earlier. He wants a life, after all.

The werewolf pranck? He laughed at Sirius face.

The lake incident? He blocked the levitating spell and punched Potter in the face.

Lucius trying to recruit him? Bleached Hair got a middle finger.

Slughorn trying to talk to him (a weak half-meaning attempt that was more insulting than anything)? An eyebrow raised and no words.

Detention? Ha! Sure... Who do this dumbasses think he is? (A student, Sev... They think you're a kid). He's got no time! He has a Dark Lord to stop!

And when Dumbledore wants to "speak" with him - read: Interrogate him on his latest activities that are getting him out of the castle and into the forest and Hogsmade (and all over Diagon and Knockturn Alley, plus many other places, though Albus doesn't need to know that) -, Severus speaks circles around the old man.

He's tired and angry, and can't stand people anymore, and he is going to get out of there and fix things so he won't have to ever put up with any of them again.

So...

Dumbledore is a complex character. Some put him as a hero, some as a villain. Both are good, honestly.

I think my favorite representation so far is from "Falling Apart", a Severus Snape centric fic.

And, I'm pretty much a Snape fan.

I'd like a bit of a more friendly relationship between them, but not the mentor-apprentice kind. More like, two very exhausted adults, one too old who thinks he knows everything, one too young, who knows too much and is done with life.

And, please listen here, Severus calls Albus 'Wulfric'.

Imagine, Severus just coming from a meeting and Dumbledore asking in an overly happy manner 'How are you, my boy?', even though Severus told him not to call him that.

'Very well, Wulfric. You?'

'All is well, Percival.'

'Just peachy, Brian.'

All the time. Alone, with Order memebers around, other memebers of staff or in front of Hogwarts' children. He would do it in front of Voldemort if he had the chance.

Imagine, Severus calling Dumbledore 'Wulfric' the same way the headmaster calls Voldemort 'Tom'.

Hi, I may or may not delate this later, but I wanted to rant about the werewolf incident between Snape and the marauders and its honest sheer idiocy. And I mean Idiocy on everyone's part.

First, Sirius. What the fuck is wrong with you, man? What made you think that it would be a good idea?! Are you really going to say that you thought Snape would not get gravely hurt? That he could not end up dead or cursed like your friend? You know, the one you outed?!?

Now, Snape. What kind of rubbish crossed your mind when you decided that doing what one of your bullies said was a good idea? What made you think that going to a supposedly haunted house in the middle of a full moon nigth was ok? In Hogwarts, the castle next to a forest full of creatures and deadly plants. This boy suspected that something was happening, and I've read that he had already started to figure out Lupin's problem. So why did he go!?!?

And Dumbledore. Did you really think that detention was a good way to deal with near murder? I'm not talking about it being sufficient, though it wasn't. I'm saying that there were a bunch of very traumatised teenagers rigth in front of him and he didn't do anything, or at least, nothing that had been explicitly mentioned. I'm talking about some kind of counseling and a better eye on them. Things had clearly gone too far, but you take one and punish him in quite an inefficient manner and don't specifically tell him why; take the other and threaten him into silence, then tell him that he owes a life debt; praise the other for his heroic actions (which perhaps was right but, idk, just hope he didn't do it in front of Snape just when he was dragged out of the shack, that would hace been too soon. Also, I've seen people writing Lily using James' saving Snape's life as proof of the later being unfair and the former being good, which only points to Potter not knowing when to keep his mouth closed...); and lets not forget about the werewolf whose secret was reveled by one of his friends and was nearly pushed to kill someone, did Dumbledore do something for the boy not to mentally collapse?

Just, it was all handled so badly.

Sirius felt way more guilty about revealing Remus nature than nearly killing someone. He kept talking about how much of a pest Severus was and seemed to pretty much think he truly deserved what he got. I don't think Sirius was a bad person, he was screwed, the place he grew up ensured that, but he had other people, he had the chance to learn and was capable of emphaty. But I don't think it really hit home what he nearly did.

James must truly have felt like a hero and what he did was brave, but bragging about it was degrading for Snape and a remainder for Lupin, not to mention the fact that the question of what he had saved Snape from, was dangerous territory for Remus.

Snape was nearly killed and then left alone to deal with it with no kind of support or compensation. I understand the need to keep things secret, but the life debt thing was going too far.

It's just that I get they were kids, only 15, but they had or should have had enough awareness to think trough what they were doing.

Dumbledore had a lot on his plate, and again, I don't think he was bad, but he screwed up.

Honestly, is there a fic where Severus thinks something like 'nah, no way I'm going there, I don't care if they think I'm a coward, I'm not that stupid' and then goes to bed to wake up the next day with nothing happening?

Ok I might be crazy for this but-

I genuinely do not remember/know if this has a canon explanation, but why did Snape NEVER see Peter at ANY death eater meeting? LIKE ANY AT ALL. Or like idk smn MENTIONING PETER?? It just makes 0 sense to me

It's impossible Snake didn't go to tell Dumbledore to keep an eye out for Peter bc he might be a spy for the dark lord! And yk Snape didn't know Peter was gonna be the secret keeper or wtv, but Dumbledore did

AND notice how Neville's parents are the ONLY ones who got tortured/badly hurt? Like they didn't receive ANY help from Dumbledore like the Potters, or at least it's not mentioned (?), again, this is just from the top of my head (also not to mention they were as much in danger as the potters were)

DO YOU SEE WHERE I'M GOING W THIS???

Dumbledore could have literally planned to leave both Neville and Harry without families so he could later manipulate them both as they grew to kill Voldemort

Bc when no one cares for u and then suddenly u find out this old man cares sooo much about u and he'll keep u safe, wouldn't u trust him?

Not saying this is canon, but yeah

This would be perfect spread the word

You know that grindelwald is still free. And we know from the Harry Potter movies that he should end up in prison at the end of the Fantastic Beasts series. So hear me out.

What if...

at the end of the movie (if they do another one. I don't think they will but just a hope.) grindelwald gets arrested and they sent him to prison. Dumbledore visits him and one of them(grindelwald or dumbledore) grabs the other and they just kiss. When the kiss ends, and dumbledore is about to leave, movie about the end dumbledore goes and says

"Who will love you now, gellert"

Just like the way grindelwald said it in The Secrets of Dumbledore. But something is different this time. He says Gellert which is nicer, more personal and heartfelt and means more than a mere surname that everyone already refers to them as. It will show the difference between them once again. Like the way grindelwald used The Killing Curse while dumbledore used just a protection spell.

Grindelwald can smile, cry or something. I don't know. And the movie ends.

This scene can be at the end of the movie or could be a post credit scene. I don't know. All I know is that I want to watch this scene. And once more I thank my silly brain for coming up with a scenario like this. Thank you one more time silly.

But if we want this to be more than a idea, we should spread this. So it is our responsibility to make everyone know about this.

It’s always interesting when you see a fandom that’s fan content is better than the canon, they looked at it and said “good concept but your executions horrible let me take over”

I’m not a part of a lot of these fandoms but I’m just a fascinated, and it’s so cool to see people really improve a concept, and make amazing content. Some examples of these fandoms (pulled from Reddit) are Miraculous Ladybug, Harry Potter, Merlin, Danny phantom (apparently), ect. I haven’t been in most of these fandoms spheres but Harry Potter just falls apart when you notice things like the antisemitism, Dumbledore supposedly being a good guy, Snape having a promising redemption in theory but the execution being poor as hell.

If you guys can give me more examples that’d be cool anyway just a rant hope y’all have a good day.

Dumbledore’s bet

Maybe it’s just me but no one else can tell me that at some point a student didn’t bet on Dumbledore’s gayness. Think about it. All through out the years that Dumbledore was a professor, a student probably started a bet on when Dumbledore realized he was gay or not. After reading skeeters book about Dumbledore, some people who placed a bet must have been thinking... “who won?”

Dumbledore was clever, cunning, and magically powerful. If he wanted real power, he could have quite quickly brought the wizarding world to its knees. Actually, he feared power and deliberately limited himself from it and tried not to get involved in the most political decisions because he knew he had a visionary side that could make him start deciding people's fates "for the greater good." He knew he could make mistakes. That's why all his positions were not really about power but were more like representative and guarantor roles, where there were many other decision-makers, and his power could be limited by others — from headmaster (from which he was disgracefully kicked out) to the position in the useless magical version of the UN.

Dumbledore didn't seek power, he feared it. That's why he avoided making some decisions and increasing his power even when he could and should have done so (like taking the post of Minister).

At first Harry thinks Dumbledore is almost like a god, but then he realizes that Dumbledore actually has no real power, makes mistakes, and is just an ordinary person with his own flaws, who has been fighting his inner demons all his life and can't forgive himself for a mistake he made in his youth.

Dumbledore is actually a deeply traumatised character who is often afraid to make decisions and avoids doing things because he believes his actions sometimes don't lead to good outcomes. He avoids action even when it's really needed, doing the bare minimum.

He is very distant, closed off, and I think quite an unhappy person. I can almost see the pain Dumbledore went through with the whole Harry situation, but it was a difficult decision that only he could make, and he actually hates himself for it, which is why he distances himself from Harry as much as possible (I don't think it's the right decision. I see it as Dumbledore's weakness.) Dumbledore's death isn't a sad event for him, it's the release he had been waiting for a long time.

This is such a simple idea that I really don't understand how people see him as a character who fought Voldemort just to keep his kinda pathetic power.

THE PUNCH

THE PUNCH

In the midst of the intense battle against Voldemort in the Ministry of Magic, the atmosphere was tense and charged with magic. Spells were being cast left and right, and the air was thick with tension. Amidst it all, a young wizard named Glenn found himself feeling completely drained.

Rubbing his tired eyes, Glenn scratched his head with his wand, trying to shake off the weariness that had settled over him. Voldemort's voice droned on as he continued his speech, his words a twisted mix of arrogance and malevolence. Glenn couldn't help but feel a sense of irritation mingling with his exhaustion.

As Voldemort's speech reached its climax, the battle erupted into chaos. Spells collided, and the clash of magic filled the air. Glenn's mind was foggy from lack of sleep and hunger, and he felt a surge of frustration building within him.

Just as Voldemort raised his wand to cast a particularly powerful curse, Glenn's patience reached its breaking point. In a moment of boldness driven by irritation, he clenched his fist and swung it with all his might, connecting with Voldemort's face in a resounding punch.

The impact was unexpected and powerful, and Voldemort was knocked off balance. His wand fell from his hand as he stumbled backward, his expression a mix of shock and disbelief. For a brief moment, the entire battlefield seemed to freeze as everyone stared in astonishment at what had just transpired.

Glenn stood there, his knuckles throbbing from the force of the punch, a mixture of disbelief and satisfaction on his face. He cracked his knuckles, wincing slightly at the pain. Then, without missing a beat, he looked up and noticed the wide-eyed stares and open mouths of those around him.

"Uh, yeah," Glenn muttered, shrugging his shoulders as if it was no big deal. "I mean, the guy was really getting on my nerves, and I just want to go home and take a nap."

His words were met with a mix of incredulous looks and amused chuckles from the other wizards and witches on the battlefield. Even Voldemort's loyal followers seemed taken aback by the unexpected turn of events.

Glenn's actions had managed to knock Voldemort unconscious, leaving the Dark Lord sprawled on the floor. The battlefield was still for a moment, and then, as if shaken from a trance, the battle resumed with renewed vigor.

With Voldemort temporarily incapacitated, the tide of the battle began to turn in favor of the defenders. Glenn's unexpected punch had provided a much-needed morale boost and a break in the tension. Spells were cast, and the battle raged on, but there was a renewed sense of determination in the air.

And in the midst of it all, Glenn stood, his hand still throbbing from the punch, a tired but satisfied smile on his face. Sometimes, a well-timed punch was all it took to change the course of history, even in the magical world.
