hey guys not so friendly reminder that you should not reupload LD or any Neil Cic music to Spotify

A thread by Needlejuice Records, @needlejuice, on Nov 16, 2023, that reads: There is yet another Spotify pirate uploader of Lemon Demon songs. Just know (as we've said before) that we were trying to get Damn Skippy and Hip to the Javabean on streaming legitimately, and these people have made it basically impossible to do it. These companies have rules about "metadata consistency" and the pirate uploaders try to be "clever" by uploading the songs under completely different artist names. This makes it so streaming services will actually refuse to allow the songs to exist under the legit name after.
continued thread: While the artist can issue a takedown, due to the sheer amount of pirate uploaders who have been attempting to upload Lemon Demon music to Spotify, not only is it difficult to issue takedowns on every single upload... ...it's gotten to the point that the Lemon Demon profile on Spotify has been locked due to suspicious activity. Locked even from Neil being able to upload his own music onto it. It's an awful situation, and it's bad implications for distributing the next LD album. So, PSA to all: STOP DOING THIS. IT ONLY HURTS THE ARTISTS. It's not a game to treat Spotify like you're entitled to it being an archive of all of the music you want to hear, and uploading whatever onto it. There are real consequences to doing this that actively hurts people.

this is why damn skippy, hip to the javabean, and other needlejuice remasters aren't on spotify. please try to be respectful, spotify isn't exactly known for being good to its artists.

also DO NOT UPLOAD THE MOUTH ALBUMS EITHER that can get Neil in serious legal trouble, you can get all of the mouth albums for free on the lemon demon website along with the first four lemon demon albums. ok I love you, bye.
