helloooo! today im going to say my fav atla ships. Fair warning I’m a multishipper so there is A Lot. (These are in no particular order)

hhhhh them<3 I’m obsessed with them!!! They were my very first atla ship and they are very dear to me. my favorite canon atla ship for sure. I love their dynamic and it’s just!!! So wholesome!!!

- maiko

they are overhated </3 so amazing!!! They fit well together and have some really cute moments. The whole childhood friends to lovers thing they have? amazing. love it. they are,,,so dear to me.

- katoph

Katara and Toph rights!!! Absolute gfs. The dynamic is unmatched. best friends. love them. katoph content on avatar studios that’s all I want 💔 I think the episode where they go to the spa together and Katara called Toph pretty was when I started shipping them and I loved them ever since :’)

i really like this one bc azula just seems to trust ty lee and is much softer with her sometimes, and ty lee seems to genuinely like Azula. I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I believe Mai and ty lee genuinely liked being friends with Azula before her mental health declined so much. anyways I think tyzula is just very neat and I love them<3

anyways I’m obsessed with them?? Like it’s a suuuper rare pair which was surprising to me but they would just be so good together and there’s so much angst potential...like ‘I love zuko more than I fear you’ would have so much different meaning if they had feelings for each other.

The fact that zukki is more popular than this ship (don’t get me wrong, zukki is awesome) has always surprised me bc they just seemed much more obvious. Anyways they worked so well together and had such a good dynamic, I am obsessed with them. The angst of boiling rock...unmatched I tell you.

The moon/ocean dynamic, the tragic end, the ‘my crush is dating my brother?’ Moment, they would be so perfect together🥺severely underrated but starting to gain more popularity so maybe they’ll have their yueki moment. the scene they had while watching Aang meditate was soooo cute and I wish we saw more of them in canon. - ty lee/azula/toph/Katara

I actually started shipping this quite recently!! I love tyzula, and tophzula, and katoph, and just recently read the ty Lee and Toph comic so my kind just immediately jumped here. They’d be so cute!!! I know all female poly ships (especially ones that have more than three) aren’t popular in this fandom but like I actually love this a lot??? I think they’d be pretty awesome together and since I hc ty Lee as an air nomad descendant it would be like the four nations.

Ghibli movies as atla ships (romantic or platonic)

Howl’s Moving Castle: I’ve always interpreted it as a maiko movie. Sophie’s conflict with herself and how reserved she is at the start feel very Mai to me and my whole family agrees that Zuko is a like. Flamboyant Howl. (that scene where Howl starts to ooze reminded me of when Zuko got sick from making a good decision)

Ponyo: Yuetara. Katara as Sosuke? She would take such good care of Yue/Ponyo I just KNOW it. Koichi as Hakoda...it just makes sense. Yue as Ponyo would be cool because her dad keeping her trapped kind of makes sense from what we know about Yue’s life. (I actually made some Yue as ponyo art but I will never post it)

My Neighbor Totoro: this one is 100% Sokka and Katara. Kya being sick, Hakodate taking them to visit? Appa as the cat bus and Aang as...idk? That doesn’t make as much sense but um. Anyways I just think this one is really sweet 🥺

Princess Mononoke: I’m not the first person to say this, but suki n sokka. Wolf lady Suki? Yes. And the whole ‘I’ll cut your throat! That’ll shut you up!’ Scene...I would pay to see them as San and Ashitaka. Katara as Ashitaka’s little sister would be so cute 😫

Spirited Away: This one was harder- i can see it as katoph, tyzula, or azutara, but I decided on Tyzula because I’ve used Katara so much already. Azula as Haku??? Ty Lee and no face (mai)? but anyways this au would be everything. Lin would definitely be suki, and the cleaning ladies would be like the kyoshi warriors.

When Marnie Was There: going to be honest I thought this movie was about lesbians til Marnie left the silo with the guy. when I learned they were related I immediately was horrified i thought it was sapphic 😫anyways, it would be cool to see this as Katara and Ikki, or Toph and Opal. I’d go with katara and Ikki though because Marnie is much softer than Toph. Ig the guy katara left the silo with would be Aang, or zuko, or whoever you ship her with. anyways I think that would be sweet :)

(This is not comics compliant) not seeing enough Mai/Azula or even Mai/Azula/Ty Lee stuff today so take my interpretation of how it would work post canon:

im horrible at getting together stories but ANYWAYS I think mai would be with zuko and she’d also have feelings for Azula so for a while she’d be torn between the two and then she’s like why not both :/ to herself one day so she tells zuko and he’s like you want to date my sister too??? And Mai says something along the lines of ’i have a type’ (i think I’m hilarious)

anyways tyzula would already be established at this point and I think Mai would not confess her feelings, I actually see Azula being the one more likely to confess (or ty Lee ‘accidentally’ lets it slip to Mai lol) but yeah I don’t really have an actual getting together moment planned.

so I headcanon zuko as transmasc nonbinary and personally love adopted!izumi so that happens <3 Azula and ty Lee still like being called her aunts rather than moms but they raise them together. ty lee would teach her chi blocking bc she’s a late bloomer in terms of bending. Mai would teach her to throw knives and izumi thinks its hilarious that she’ll see her mom look super Powerful and Threatening™️ one minute and then the next her mom will just be laying on the couch cuddling her girlfriends and writing a love letter to her husband who’s on a diplomacy trip. azula and zuko teach her fire bending ofc. Sometimes Azula has to take breaks because it triggers memories of her intense training when she was a child, but her family is always there to calm her down 💘

ayyy my first ask🥳 and yessss I hate that poly shipping in fandom revolves around men so often. Like the most popular poly ship in nearly every fandom (the only one I can think of that counteracts this is she ra lol) is m/m/f and I could go on about why that fits with the demographic of the media but I will NOT because KATOPHZULA!!! my blog is,,,pretty open to every wlw rare pair and I’ve made my love for katyzutoph apparent and katophzula being part of that, I love them!!!

 I think that katoph would definitely get together first if we’re applying in canon, but I actually thing tophzula would be established in like,,,a modern/no war/etc au. I think they’d be pretty chill together- Katara would get into arguments with them a lot but most of them would be petty tiny things and end up laughing while they’re supposed to be yelling at each other. Sometimes Azula and Katara will be arguing about what color carpeting to buy or something like that and Katara randomly starts laughing, and Azula is like it’s not funny >:((( but she doesn’t mean it and they make up.

 I also feel like Azula would be pining for a loooong time before they get together because she doesn’t know how they would work it out and she’s terrified of her own feelings. Like Katara and toph would start dating 2 years post canon and a couple months later she starts interacting and apologizing, and they become good friends. Toph and Katara both know they have feelings for Azula, and Azula knows she has feelings for them, but it’s another four years until they all get together because of guilt, mistrust, and fear.

Katara is a big spoon with toph and changes it up with Azula, Azula big spoons toph (toph is short and sometimes she just wants to be held) and switches it up with Katara, and all together Azula is usually in the middle.

Since they’re all from different nations, they move around a lot as adults. Summers in Caldera, Winters in Ba Sing Se, and SWT in spring. They don’t put anything in fall for certain- if they feel like staying in caldera for fall, they do that. If they want to go to the water tribe because Katara’s feeling homesick? That’s where they go. (Also I know Toph isn’t from ba sing se but she doesn’t want to stay near her parents bc of their,,,estrangement.)

Feel like I’ve done some Azutara and some Katoph but no Tophzula sooo Toph likes making jewelry for Azula bc Azula likes lots of accessories so Toph makes her necklaces, earrings, and headbands. She metalbends them ofc and Azula LOVES them and she’s not used to people doing things for her without being asked so she’s awkward about it but they both get points across lol.

ig I can’t call this to all the boys lol since in this au they’re comphet and it’s not only boys. Anyways, Katara is a 16 year old sophomore and Toph is a 15 year old sophomore. They’re friends, were closer in middle school though. I’m

Yue is in Josh’s place. She’s sokka’s ex, Katara has a crush on her. Haru is the one she danced with at that school prom thing and he’s like this is awkward bc I’m gay lol and she’s like yeah me too sorry😫Jet is the guy from camp, Aang is John Ambrose, and Toph is Peter but 100% better.

Chris is Suki. Jen is Azula, and Toph’s crush. She’s dating Ty Lee and Toph wants her attention (she has a crush) that’s why she agrees to fake date Katara.

Katara mostly hangs out with Suki and Sokka (who just started dating) and Zuko, who’s pretty much dating Mai but they’re like what no we’re not🙄

sokka sends the letters ig or maybe Aang does. you can interpret this however

She sees Aang from time to time and he knows that she’s over the crush so when he gets a letter, he teases her a little over the phone but they’re fine.

She sees Yue walking over to her in the hallway when she’s about to talk to Toph about the letter and then she and Toph kiss until Yue walks away.

Toph is kinda confused but says she doesn’t really want to date bc she has feelings for someone and Katara’s like nonono me too! that’s why it’s called fake dating.

So they start fake dating and whatever and Katara is like can you write me notes :) and Toph is like,,, I’m blind.

But Toph texts her a lil note everyday and it’s really sweet. She also brings her tea from the Jasmine Dragon bc she lives with zuko and Iroh.

The party where gen (Jen? Idk) takes Lara jeans scrunchie happens but it’s not as dramatic Toph says she likes running her hands through Katara’s hair and that she misses that from middle school do Katara’s like k bet lol and takes her hair out of the braid. The hair tie has no value and azula is like hey can I have a hair tie? And Toph’s like sure

The ski trip is happening soon and Katara’s nervous she’s actually falling for Toph. Toph’s already 100% certain of her feelings, has tried to subtly show them through quality time and acts of service.

When the ski trip happens, Katara sits with Haru across from tyzula and she’s like. Huh they’re actually pretty nice. So she gets along with them and all so that’s great :)

Toph is annoyed they didn’t sit together but doesn’t brood the way Peter did, she isn’t mad per se just a little let down. She’s dipping her feet in the hot tub or is barely in it idk and Katara comes and talks to her bc she has worked up the courage to confess.

I can’t write confessions of love so you imagine whatever your heart desires and that’s how it goes down. They kiss and then someone takes a picture of them and then when they get back to school they get a ton of homophobic comments and stuff. Apparently people didn’t care until they started being more public(I hate homophobia as a plot point but I hated how it was in the og so I’m making it this.)

Azula didn’t take the pic in this au bc I’m not going to demonize her end of story she’s not nice per se but she’s not down right despicable like some people write her as

Toph finds katara and apologizes, they make up and try to ignore all the hate. It’s hard and Katara’s not as used to it, but eventually it dies down and they’re good again.

Flora (the youngest) is Izumi and the oldest would be,,,I think I’m making an OC child lol. Pretty much, the manor is haunted. That’s the gist, but it’s much more complex and I’d recommend watching it bc it’s AMAZING.
