Idk how to describe it, but we knew the pope was gonna die last night
Some people might romanticise or misunderstand DID due to portrayals in media and social circles. Here are a few reasons why they might think it's "fun" even though the reality is very different.
Media Influence: Movies and TV often dramatise DID, making it seem exciting or mysterious rather than showing the real struggles that come with it.
Social Media Trends: Some online communities talk about DID in a way that focuses on the uniqueness of having multiple identities, rather than the distress and challenges.
Perceived Escape from Responsibility: Some might think having different identities means avoiding responsibility for actions, which is a harmful misconception.
Curiosity About Different Identities: The idea of switching personalities can seem fascinating, like playing different characters, without understanding the serious psychological impact.
In reality, DID is a complex and distressing disorder that results from trauma. It’s not something enjoyable.

why do we have a new part this is insane

One thing that pisses me off about most DID/OSDD rep is that its almost ALWAYS EXCLUSIVELY “mr normal” and then “mr evil kills everyone for no reason”. No in between or variation. I feel like having alters who are more “aggressive and violent” can be excusable depending on context, like if it was during a war or everyone for themselves situation? But nooooooo it’s always some suburban white collar dude.
I wish i lived by the forest again. To just sit in nature. Some of my best memories was running into the woods and being whoever we wanted in the trees and ruins. A safe place where i could be alone, and never bothered.
The future should not be plural.
The future should accommodate for those with dissociative disorders.
The future should have further more thorough research in dissociative disorders.
The future should be more accepting of dissociative disorders.
BUT
The future should not be plural.
That means children are getting repeatedly traumatised at an impressionable age.
That means children don't have healthy coping mechanisms.
That means children AREN'T SAFE.
The future should not be plural, but it should be respectful and accepting to those who are.
