Thinking about the family dynamics in IWTV. Lestat and Claudia's relationship obviously mirrors that mother daugther relationship where the mother secretly resents the daughter for capatalizing her husbands attention. People say Louis and Claudia's relationship mirrors the mom who constantly chooses her partners over you but thats not true. Louis and Claudia's relationship is that of the father who keeps dating women that hate his kids and antagonizes them and he refuses to see it. He also plays the role of the emotionally stunted father that forces his daughter to mother him because he is basically incapable of being a functional human being particularly in season 2.
Obviously these are two queer men. But one of them having the motherly or fatherly role in their fucked up family dynamic is less of who is the man or woman in the relationship and moreso who best mirrors these well established family dynamics. Atleast to me. In short justice for Claudia she deserved to take a gun to both of them.

Yeah okay so every vampire in the vampire chronicles is turned at critical a moment in their lives and beyond just the body they are in when they are turned, their mentality stays at that standstill for their entire immortality, Lestat was turned against his will, he was clinging onto Magnus begging him to be freed, so he’s constantly seeking freedom and only finding loneliness and thus turning back to people again and again, however he can’t STAND being told what to do, since he desires agency in his life so desperately, Armand was turned after years and years of abuse and lack of control but such a desire for genuine love, by a man he ‘loved’ so wholly who he felt was barring his love from him, he needs control in his life, he needs a ‘master’ but he does not desire it, it does not fulfill him, he is trapped in a room but the door is unlocked! Louis was mourning his brother, he felt like an utter failure and so he’s always seeking family, seeking people he can care for, he can coddle, he can prove he is good too, but he loves people who either cannot stand coddeling and need a sense of looseness to live (Lestat) or people who grow out of coddling who prove to Louis he will always fail the people he loves (Claudia), Claudias turning, in many MANY ways mirrors lestats in that it was against her will, she was stolen from her home, and in her immortality she desires freedom but unlike Lestat does not have the agency/ form to get it, she will always be small, she will always be looked down on, even by Lestat who cannot deny how much she is just like him *taps mic* ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME!! NONE OF THEM CAN BREAK THE CYCLE!!! TO BREAK IT WOULD BE TO UNDO THE VERY FIBER OF THEIR IMMORTAL SELVES!! THE CYCLE IS THE BLOOD THEY DRINK IT IS THE HEART IN THEIR CHEST AND IT ROLLS AND ROLLS DOWN THE MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS OF THEIR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER AND IT CAN NEVER BE STOPPED BECAUSE THEY WILL NEVER STOP LOVING EACH OTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!
I genuinely cannot believe anyone still uses Twitter. Guys… just stop looking. Nothing they say about IWTV matters.
- Devil’s Minion is coming (and has already happened perchance???)
- LBF is still employed so we’re getting more young Daniel regardless.
- It’s still the Loustat show. They’re endgame. So are DM. Both are happening. That is an irrefutable fact. Long live the diabolicule.
- The entire cast and people who aren’t chronically online adore Eric. Also he’s seventy years old, incredibly self-assured and also employed so he doesn’t give a fuck about what anyone is saying about him in general, but especially not jobless people on Twitter. He has had seven decades of learning to not give a fuck. It’s fine.
- Lots of Lestat coming in the near future. Doesn’t matter how many people who don’t get the show complain about him.
- Lots more Armand too. People can misunderstand him all they want. It does not matter.
- Lesmand is going to happen. Fight it if you want, but they are messy and they are coming.
- More Louis and Daniel too! Ships aside, they aren’t going to virtually vanish like they did in the books.
- No one in that cast is looking at Twitter if they know what’s good for them. It’s a hellscape and they’ve mentioned that they know that so you shouldn’t look either.
Literally the only actual issue that I can recall rn is how weird AMC are being about Assad, and their iffy marketing and Emmys strategy. There are some real problems. Mostly everything else is unimportant. Don’t let it get to you. They enjoy being miserable over there. If it wasn’t this show, they’d just be complaining about different one.
And delete that stupid fucking app. It’s evil (and owned by someone infinitely eviler.) You will feel better once you do. Speaking from experience. Get out of there.

Today I present to you a fragment from tvl, where Armand is talking to Lestat after their fight in the palace. Armand is trying to persuade Lestat and Gabrielle into keeping him with them and I just can't stop thinking about his words here.
As we know Lestat disregarded Armand's words by turning Louis, but it's a very long time after this argument. I can't stop wondering wheter it's Lestat's powerlessnes against breaking this pattern after so many years, or rather his belief that whatever Armand said is not true. I myself can't tell if it was a lie told by someone who's tangled in "the old ways" and whose whole world just crumbled, or just a fact about vampirism.
Anyways my media literacy is a little bit lacking and I can't wait to find out more about book armandstat. Their dynamic is so delicious....
guys should I start drawing dm smuts, would that get me out of art block...
I really hope the next season of iwtv separates the real freaks from the freak tourists like if we get irl motherfucker lestat and Eric bogosian naked all over everybody we really gonna see who is on real freak hours
