who wanna be friends im struggling out here *holds out juice box and apple slices like we're in kindergarten*
We've decided to make this post because we have continued to see Cherokee being used like a fancy font or in text faces. It's both disrespectful and racist. We aren't here to yell at those who simply didn't know. We just want to spread the languages meaning and educate those around us. We will only accept respectful interactions.
This is the list of Cherokee script:
Ꭰ Ꭱ Ꭲ Ꭳ Ꭴ Ꭵ Ꭶ Ꭷ Ꭸ Ꭹ Ꭺ Ꭻ Ꭼ Ꭽ Ꭾ Ꭿ
Ꮀ Ꮁ Ꮂ Ꮃ Ꮄ Ꮅ Ꮆ Ꮇ Ꮈ Ꮉ Ꮊ Ꮋ Ꮌ Ꮍ Ꮎ Ꮏ
Ꮐ Ꮑ Ꮒ Ꮓ Ꮔ Ꮕ Ꮖ Ꮗ Ꮘ Ꮙ Ꮚ Ꮛ Ꮜ Ꮝ Ꮞ Ꮟ
Ꮠ Ꮡ Ꮢ Ꮣ Ꮤ Ꮥ Ꮦ Ꮧ Ꮨ Ꮩ Ꮪ Ꮫ Ꮬ Ꮭ Ꮮ Ꮯ
Ꮰ Ꮱ Ꮲ Ꮳ Ꮴ Ꮵ Ꮶ Ꮷ Ꮸ Ꮹ Ꮺ Ꮻ Ꮼ Ꮽ Ꮾ Ꮿ
Ᏸ Ᏹ Ᏺ Ᏻ Ᏼ Ᏽ
many of these may look familiar due to them being used as a "font" way to spell English words or faces. These are not English nor a font. Ꭰ is not d, Ꭱ is not r. And so on. This is a real indigenous language that doesn't follow English standards. There is a nice YouTube page that pronounces different words, phrases, and talks about the cultures history. -> link. We recommend checking it out for those curious. Though we're listing it in written form as well.
Ꭰ (a), Ꭱ (e), Ꭲ (i), Ꭿ (hi) are a few, but the full list and how to read the sounds can be found here. -> link.
This post may be updated over time, other resources or Cherokee people's findings are appreciated. We hope this gets shared around and gives people a new perspective.
